Tourism cooperation discussed
March 22, 2010 (Doha, Qatar) –
Mr. Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Qatar Tourism Authority, met with Mr. Juan Jose Santos-Aguado Ambassador of Spain in Qatar on Monday. Also present at the meeting was Mr. Jabor Al-Mohannadi, Head of Public and International Relations of Qatar Tourism Authority.
The meeting comes after the European Roadshow organized by Qatar Tourism Authority promoting Qatar as a premier destination to business travel professionals in Europe, where Madrid was the first city on the tour.
Mr. Al Nuaimi exchanged views with Mr. Santos-Aguado on tourism coordination between the State of Qatar and Spain. The two sides discussed ideas on cooperation between the two countries on tourism, and various investments in tourism in both the private and public sectors. Mr. Al Nuaimi and Mr. Santos-Aguado also discussed signing a memorandum of understanding between the two countries to further bi-lateral cooperation in tourism.
Mr. Al Nuaimi and Mr. Santos-Aguado discussed the opportunity for Spain to stage an exhibition in Qatar promoting Spanish-made materials and products. Mr. Santos-Aguado expressed his appreciation for such an invitation by Qatar Tourism Authority and will consider holding an event in Qatar in the future.
