Qatar Marks Arab Town Day

Doha, March 14 (QNA) -

Qatar joins the sisterly Arab countries to mark the Arab Town Day, which falls tomorrow, Monday, March 15, the anniversary of the founding of the Arab Towns Organization in 1967. H.E. Minister of Municipal Affairs and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdurrahman bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani gave a speech on this occasion in which he congratulated all the officials of Arab towns and all those interested in the Arab Towns affairs.

The celebration this year comes to coincide with the World Health Organization’s celebration which confirms the trends and unite attention to the health of towns and their inhabitants, H.E. the Minister noted. He said event comes as Qatari towns have received full care under the guidance of H.H. the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and H.H. the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, adding that said that all towns in the state are witnessing unprecedented and comprehensive progress in all domains including local and municipal services with high efficiency, and we’re still trying to make more in the coming period. H.E. the Minister greeted the Qatari towns which won four awards at the 10th Arab Towns Organization Award round in the fields of architecture, heritage, greening and information technology, pointing out that this is the first time that Qatar harvested this number of awards in a single round.
