In order to support Qatar's file to host the 2022 World Cup and in cooperation with the Qatar's file 2022 has contributed in organizing a national march under the banner of a major foot - (the Road to 2022) under the auspices of HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
Participated in the march about 27 schools has been gathering for about 1500 to 2500 students in the courtyard of the Ahnaf bin Qais School in West Bay Area at 9 am on March 9, 2010 - This is in addition to a number of students at the Shafallah Center of wheelchair users who were waiting near Doha Exhibition Center to join the march. The march began from the School of Ahnaf bin Qais in West Bay at 10:30 am to the Doha Exhibition Center – at the Qatar Tourism Authority building - where there was 35 bus awaiting the arrival of the student march.
The participants in the national march - (the way to 2022) – were:
- Traffic and patrols, - (to facilitate and regulate the traffic)
- The number between 40 to 50 people from Qatar Voluntary Center
- A number of ambulances - (for any emergency reasons)
- Supreme Council of Education (Independent Schools and private)
- Al-Noor Institute (for Blind)
- Shafallah Center
- Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development
- Qatar University
- Community schools
- Media
- Qatar Olympic Committee and Leaders in Education
- Their Excellencies the Ministers and the Senate
- Members of the diplomatic corps
- Members of the Shura Council and municipal
Objectives of this national march is to support the considerable efforts made by the Commission file (Qatar 2022) and activating the role of educational institutions and civil society partnership of citizens and residents with all sectors of the state, and the promotion of national values among students in schools and contribute to the definition and dissemination of the file locally and internationally, and the definition of community benefits implications on the organization of the State of Qatar for this event and to highlight them.
