Qatar Tourism Authority congratulates Qatar and its people on National Day
Doha, 14 December 2009 - Mr. Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Qatar Tourism Authority, sends his congratulations to His Highness the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and to the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, God protect them, on the National Day of the State of Qatar. According to Al Nuaimi, this day is “a precious anniversary in the heart of all the nationals and residents of this country.”
Mr. Al Nuaimi expressed: “The anniversary of National Day is precious in the heart of each person in this beloved country. Each national should be proud on this day to be a part of this country, which instills the spirit of dignity and belonging.”
Al Nuaimi commented that “the 18th day of December of each year, is so dear to us as it honors and commemorates the ascension of Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani, the founder of the State of Qatar, to the throne and his virtuous efforts in leading Qatar as a unified country, and the effect his leadership had on Qatar’s modern history. The blessed journey has continued since the establishment of the state of Qatar. Our beloved nation under our leaders – God protect them – has achieved great accomplishments in several aspects of life."
He added that “each Qatari national should be proud of these accomplishments, which are a strong testament of the progress and prosperity our country has witnessed. We should be proud of these achievements that developed our country and should call upon God to protect His Highness the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and Heir Apparent, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and keep them safe for their people and country, so that our young country will continue to progress and prosper under their ruling.”
On celebrating this anniversary, which is dear to the Authority and all the Qataris, and which will be celebrated on Friday 18 December, Al Nuaimi stated “the Authority’s role in the celebrations on this day will be clear through cooperation with other authorities and establishments in the State of Qatar.”
As the Qatar Tourism Authority undertakes the role of regulating the tourism sector within the State of Qatar, it ensured early to coordinate with the National Committee for preparing the celebrations for the National Day anniversary. A series of mutual meetings were held for setting a program that clarifies the Authority’s role in cooperation with the National Day Committee for celebrating this day.
Among the arrangements made by Qatar Tourism Authority in celebration of National Day, it is participating in preparing the documentary commissioned by the National Day Committee in preparation of the celebrations of the special day.
Qatar Tourism Authority urges all hotel and tourism facilities and establishments in Qatar to host programs reflecting the joyous occasion of this day, including wearing national dress and decorating their locations so that these establishments and their employees and guests can celebrate. The offices of Qatar Tourism Authority will be decorated in celebration of this anniversary with flags of the State of Qatar and the slogans of National Day.
