Meeting emphasizes friendly relationship between Qatar and UK
Chairman of Qatar Tourism Authority meets with British Ambassador
(Doha, Qatar) – Mr. Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Qatar Tourism Authority met with the British Ambassador to Qatar, Mr. John Hawkins, last week.
Mr. Al Nuaimi discussed with Mr. Hawkins the strength of the relationship between the State of Qatar and the UK, with Mr. Hawkins acknowledging the efforts on the part of Qatar Tourism Authority among the British business community.
Mr. Al Nuaimi had recently been invited to speak to the members of the Qatar British Business Forum at a luncheon where he addressed more than 100 businessmen and women of the British community. He covered a range of topics related to tourism in the current economic environment. “Few countries enjoy as special a friendship as Qatar and the UK”, said Mr. Al Nuaimi. “We are partners in energy, in investment and of course, in tourism.”
Mr. Al Nuaimi and Mr. Hawkins discussed ways to continue to increase the number of British tourists visiting Qatar. Around 40,000 British tourists visit Qatar every year and nearly 11,000 British nationals live in Qatar.
