DOHA 9th FEBRUARY, 2011: The best chefs in the country gathers in the second version of Doha food festival 2011, which is going to be organized by Qatar Tourism Authority under the logo of “taste & fun”. Which will be held behind the Doha Exhibition Center on February 23 to 26, 2011. Chefs will showcase their “signature” dishes for the public at the festival in family- friendly atmosphere.
All of Qatar’s top hotels as well as classy restaurants will participate in the festival, including the 5 stars hotels restaurants, where the best chefs will offer Arabic, Asian, Mexican, European and even “fine dining” gourmet treats, which will be sold to visitors for QR5, QR10 and QR15 per platter. Qatar Tourism Authority is going to award the best restaurant in the last 2 days of the festival, as the families can enjoy the festival atmosphere with a DJ every afternoon jazz band and other performers.
“Food Festival is fast becoming a landmark community event in Doha, Where families can experience such gourmet food for a reasonable price in a family-friendly atmosphere.” Qatar Tourism Authority Chairman Ahmed Al Nuaimi said.
As Al-Nuaimi added: “It is important for the QTA to bring these events to the community. Not only will visitors enjoy great food and fun entertainment, they will have the opportunity to taste dishes from other cultures& seek to promote various cultural awareness.”
Mr. Al Nuaimi assured that the event could not be organized without the support of the hospitality industry in Qatar: “Their extremely positive response in 2011 supported organizing such festival which we can ingest the wider community and showcase what Qatar has to offer.”
Al-Nuaimi concluded: “I urge people to come along, try something new, eat well and enjoy themselves.”

February 23rd: 4 pm – 10.30 pm
February 24th: 12 pm - 10:30 pm
February 25th: 1 pm - 10:30 pm
February 26th: 12pm - 10:30pm
Entry is free and coupons are available for QR5 to purchase the dishes. Dishes will be priced between QR5 and QR15.
