Unique, extraordinary, exhilarating, – An event not to be missed
January 28, 2011, Doha – Everyone in Qatar is at the Qatar Motor Show. With a traffic queue at least one kilometer long on the second day of the show, the highly anticipated show has proven to be a popular and one of a kind event, offering entertainment to tens of thousands of visitors. With the showcasing of the most exclusive sports, luxury and SUV models from 36 major car brands, this unique event is one not to be missed.
Visitors are flocking to the event to the try their hands at the indoor entertainment which includes driving simulators and PlayStation action, offering visitors a unique, real driving experience. Exhibitor competitions and giveaways are designed for car-lovers and motoring enthusiasts. The driving simulators and the reflex challenge games at the Shell stand present the public with the chance to beat the professional drivers’ times. The top 20 competitors will win an amazing package to visit Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi. The final draw for will be taking place on the final day of the show - January 29 at 6pm. “The driving simulator was really exciting and It almost felt like driving a real Ferrari! I hope to win the trip to Ferrari World!” said Jad Shaaban. Visitors can also try to beat their record at the Gran Turismo 5 PS3 on the Toyota stand.
With over 55 exhibitors, including car accessory companies and more, featuring more than 135 cars, many visitors are impressed with the scale of this event. “The show is really well organized and a fantastic showpiece of luxury, sports and commercial cars. I was surprised to see so many limited edition cars and I am really impressed with the lively atmosphere.” said Paul Beard, visitor.
The outdoor activities, which are organized in association with Red Bull Energy Drink have been especially popular with the crowds. The shows include drifting and motocross demonstrations, as well as test drive sessions of the latest car and SUV models. Motorsports fans enjoy professional driving tips with demos from leading experts and world-renowned professional drivers including the Lebanese rally champion and Middle East Hill Climb champion and Red Bull Athlete Abdo Feghali. The winner of the website competition, George Badr, had a chance to take a drifting spin with Abdo Feghali. Badr, said, “Being in the drifting car is really amazing especially because Abdo Feghali is one of the best drivers in Lebanon. The Qatar Motor Show is really well organized and beyond anyone’s expectations. I am already looking forward to next year’s event!”
Another highlight of the First International Edition of the Qatar Motor Show is the custom built freestyle motocross jumping zone, where some of the world’s finest freestyle motocross riders perform exhilarating shows for spectators.
A Jeep V6 will be receiving a makeover by the well-known MV Designz team over the 4 days of the show at the QTEL Virgin Mobile Services stand.
The last day of the Qatar Motor Show, organized by Qatar Tourism Authority in partnership with q.media events and GL Events, is January 29. The show is open to the public from 10am – 1pm and from 4pm – 10pm, and entry is free. Children will not be admitted to the exhibition hall. Visitors of all ages can enjoy the outdoor shows.
