More than 300 exhibitors and 22,000 visitors expected at this year’s event
Doha- January 23, 2011: Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassem Bin Jabor Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, the 8th Annual Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition, will be held from the February 15th to 20th 2011 in Doha.
Organized by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), the six-day international exhibition is billed as one of the region's leading exhibitions of its kinds and will showcase some of the world's finest jewellery and watch collections – some of which are exclusive to Doha.
This year's event features more than 300 international and regional brands of premium jewellery and luxury watches. In addition to an impressive list of regular exhibitors, it will play host for the first time many new participants representing some of the world's leading names in the industry.
“The annual Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition, covering a space of nearly 15,000 square meters, is one of the most important exhibitions, out of more than 30 exhibitions hosted annually at the Doha Exhibitions Center. QTA is committed to promoting the State of Qatar as a first-rate destination for business, industry conferences, cultural events, education, sports and leisure, and provides world-class amenities and services,” QTA Chairman Mr. Ahmed Al Nuami said.
“Last year, the show attracted over 20,000 visitors, many of them coming from the neighboring regions including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and the United Arab Emirates. With the industry's leading retailers and manufacturers back with their exclusive presentations and a number of new exhibitors, the 2011 show is expected to record a significant increase in the number of visitors from all over the GCC region.
“The Doha exhibition is unique because it is the one such exhibition in the region where the CEOs and other top officials of the world famous jewellery and watch companies personally appear at their pavilions to meet customers and discuss their specialties,” Mr Al Nuami said.
Among the significant Qatari exhibitors are Ali Bin Ali Watches & Jewelry, Fifty One East, Amiri Gems, Alfardan Jewellery, Blue Salon, Al Majed Jewellery, Al Muftah Jewellery, Makki Jewellery, Marzook Al Shamlan, Paris Gallery, and Al-Zain. High profile international brands featured in the show will include Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Audemers Piguet, Richard Mille and Montblanc, Chopard, Chanel, Vacheron Constantin and Piaget, Zenith, Damiani, Maurice Lacroix and Ladoire, Palmiero, Jacob & Co, Concord and Franc Vila, Patek Philippe, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Century, Ebel and Giovanni Ferraris.
