Chairman of Qatar tourism and exhibitions authority meets with Korean Ambassador to Qatar

Doha, Qatar (August 9, 2009) – Qatar tourism and exhibitions authority (QTEA) met with the outgoing ambassador of the Republic of Korea at the Doha Exhibitions Center this week.

Mr Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Qatar tourism and exhibitions authority, met with Mr. Kim Jong Yong, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Qatar. Also present at the meeting was Mr. Jabor Al-Mohannadi, Head of Public and International Relations of QTُA and Mr. Koo Heonsang, First Secretary of the Korean Embassy in Qatar. Mr. Kim’s successful tour of duty in Qatar has some to an end.

Mr. Al Nuaimi discussed with Mr. Kim the continuation of bilateral cooperation on tourism between Qatar and Korea. Earlier this year, Mr Al Nuaimi met with senior officials of the Korean Embassy in Qatar to discuss ways to enhance Qatar’s tourism strategy with partners in Asia and cooperation between Korea and Qatar in the tourism sector.  A Memorandum of Understanding was raised to exchange training and expertise between the two countries.

Speaking about the meeting, Mr. Al-Nuaimi commented: “At Qatar tourism authority, we promote tourism as a way to diversify the economy of Qatar and of countries we partner with.  The cooperative efforts on tourism between Qatar and Korea will naturally raise the interest in our two countries as we exchange ideas and learn from one another’s experiences.”
