Qatar has introduced a new hotel classification system, categorizing hotels with an official "star" rating in accordance with the standard criteria which is monitored by the Qatar Tourism Authority.  This formal system both clarifies and standardizes services offerd by the hotels in Qatar.  See here the list of Qatar's star-rated hotels and apartments.
