H.H. the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani , who is also the president of the Qatar Olympic Committee , QOC and the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Jacques Rogge signed here on
Saturday a contract under which Qatar will host the 9th International Conference on Sports and Environment 2011.
The contract was signed on the sidelines of the 121st International Olympic Committee (ICO) and the 13th Olympic Congress, currently in session in the Danish Capital of Copenhagen.
HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Secretary-General of QOC reaffirmed that Qatar’s bidding to host the prestigious conference had received a wide response from the majority of IOC board members among presence of other prominent bidding cities.
